Sound System Show #18

All four of us are back on this the 18th Sound System Podcast thus breaking Ken and Mickey’s run of 4 podcasts in a row. You can tell by the madness that its the first the four of us have done in a while. Musically we have

but in between the songs you’ll get all the usual banter, some exchanges we need to flag as explicit. They’re not suggestive by any nature but we have a passing discussion about the name of one of Fox Jaw Bounty Hunter’s tracks from their recent self-titled EP release, take a listen and you’ll see why. We also look at the gigs just gone, the sessions coming up, new photos on the gallery, Ross’ random web search, summer gigs and so much more, all packed into somewhere around 38 minutes.

Sound System Show #17

We’ve hit show number #17 and for the third week running its myself (Ken) and Mickey on the mic to cover the One Take Sessions, seen as the other two had the night off - hell, everyone deserves a night off now and again.

Sound System Show #16

With Ross in the middle of his final exams and Daw feverishly working away on the last mix of the ITF EP, its myself (Ken) and Mickey on the mic for the 16th podcast.

while we also chat about Po’Girl at the Rhythm and Roots Festival which closed on Monday night; Waiting To Explode and Innate who feature this weekend (May 12th) and next weekend (May 19th) respectively; Boo’s favourite Den presenter; Mantra’s new release and forthcoming surprise album; give a shoutout to Ilya K who are in the final of the Murphy’s Live competition for 2007 this Thursday; and we look forward to the One Take Sessions also this coming Thursday.

My guess is that with the dust settling on the ITF mix and Mickey with better things to do next week it could be myself and Daw on the podcast next Monday night (we’re on a Tuesday tonight because of the Bank Holiday) but who knows!

Sound System Show #15

Different combinations yield different results and with Daw and Ross away, its the turn of The Chief (Ken) & Boo for the 15th Sound System Podcast. Hell, we’ve even got a cheesy intro (thats what you get for letting us loose). Aiming for a short show, we’ve wound up with not long over 40 minutes of chat and a few questions from the forum. We take a look at the Lord Of The Drums (which just passed this weekend), the upcoming Rhythm & Roots Festival, announce a Guggenheim Grotto appearance in Kilkenny for this summer and look at how the band are getting on of late and we take five questions from the forum which were posted for this podcast.
