Sound System Podcast #60

October 1, 2008

Another landmark podcast for KilkennyMusic.com as we finally, finally, reach show #60. Plenty of content for you this week with myself and Ross skiving off to Galway on a pre-planned whim on Monday night to catch Cut The Reins, 20 Bulls Each, Only Fumes And Corpses, The Lobotomies and Richmond punks Strike Anywhere in action in Cuba (upstairs venue).

Along with the road trip we’ve got plenty of useless internet facts, news on the One Take Sessions, a quick look back to PodCamp, gigs this weekend and more besides. If you don’t know anything about punk music then tonight’s playlist is going to be a bit of an education as we’ve music from four of the five bands above (no track from Galway hardcore outfit Cut The Reins).

On that note, enjoy the podcast and don’t forget that if you want to get involved, email us or send a mail to the studio on podcast [at] kilkennymusic.com and we’ll talk turkey. Or business. Or business turkey.

Later.

[…] Completely giddy and with the gig still ringing in my ears I’ve quickly sorted out the abundance of shots, you can check out all my shots featuring Cut the Reins, 20BullsEach, Only Fumes and Corpses, the Lobotomies and Strike Anywhere here on my new Flickr account. As it was Strike Anywhere’s first time in Ireland, I hope they’ll be back again and hopefully I’ll get to shoot all of these bands again soon. You can also hear myself and the Chief talking about the gig and tracks from some of the bands on the 60th Sound System Podcast. Hey Ross and Ken

Congrats on the 60th podcast! and getting to final of Web Awards for KKM!!

You might want to mention on the next session that ArtLInks is forming an association with Music Network, so in 09 we hope we’ll be able to offer the music community more.

Oh, and when I get a few minutes, due to having new pages on the artlinks site, I will post the course KKM did last year, Getting Ahead in the Music Industry so I might be after you for your notes.

    Cathy
